Dreamer can Fleece rivals
The nap vote falls on Tommy Stack’s Ryehill Dreamer in the Listed Golden Fleece Stakes, naturally a non-handicap.
The Catcher In The Rye colt has been given a good break since running twice in two weeks in late April-early May.
He made his debut on this track, enjoying far from a clear passage in the straight, before finishing half a length second behind Vilasol.
The pair meet again on exactly the same terms, but with Vilasol not having been seen in the meantime, the selection is fancied to reverse the placings.
Ryehill Dreamer followed that by making no mistake at Gowran Park when beating Mr Topaz, not seen since, and subsequent winner, Tosach Nua, by two lengths and four lengths.
Aidan O’Brien’s progressive Sawtooth Mountain rates the main danger. He came home well at the end of seven furlongs at Gowran Park when beating Tomas an Tsioda by a length and a half.
Tomas An Tsioda boosted the form when winning at the Curragh on Friday night last, but lost the contest in favour of another O’Brien inmate, Rip Van Winkle, in the stewards’ room.
O’Brien’s Love To Dance looks to have found her level in the Tattersalls Maiden. This half-sister to Dylan Thomas is moderate, but probably capable of getting through a bad race such as this.
She was only rated a paltry 54 when beaten three parts of a length into second by Burning Sky in a maiden here last month.
The daughter of Sadler’s Wells was then tried in a Group 3 at Cork and was far from disgraced in taking seventh behind stable companion, Ice Queen.
The three-year-old went up a whopping 29lbs for those two efforts, to a mark of 85, and, if the handicapper is even close to being right, this is well within her capabilities.
Cheyenne Star, who hinted at returning to her best when third to Grecian Dancer at the Curragh, might provide the answer to the Group 3 Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Brownstown Stakes.
