Sualice can make amends

SUALICE, who cost punters a bundle at Dundalk last month, gets the nap to make a triumphant return to the track tonight in the Buy Value At Goffs Breeze-Up Maiden.

Sualice can make amends

The daughter of Singspiel ran with distinct promise on her only outing as a juvenile and was confidently backed to make a winning reappearance.

But Sualice met one too good in the shape of Mid Mon Lady, going under by a head, after the pair had a protracted tussle in the final two furlongs.

It was a mildly disappointing return on the part of the selection, considering Mid Mon Lady is no more than a useful handicapper.

Dermot Weld’s filly did, though, battle on in game fashion and stepping up an extra furlong plus in trip should suit.

Ger Lyons’ Slam Dunk is hard to oppose in the opening Unbeatable Quality and Value At Goffs Maiden.

He ran three solid races last season, rounding off with a neck second to Aidan O’Brien’s Great Rumpuscat at Naas.

That seems to give him a big edge in this class and the handicapper says he has a minimum of 17lbs in hand of his rivals, who qualify for a rating.

Kevin Prendergast’s Privet should go close in the Win With A Goffs Breezer Fillies Maiden.

Third to Jupiter Pluvius on her debut at the Curragh, she followed with another fine effort when fourth behind Halfway To Heaven at Leopardstown.

Fiery Lad, who scored by a length and three parts here last time, has prospects of shrugging of a 5lbs rise in the weights in the Real Quality At Goffs Breeze-up Handicap.
