Sublimity may have all-weather prep for Cheltenham
The former Sir Michael Stoute-trained gelding has only been seen once since his finest hour in March when he was a well-beaten fourth behind Osana in the Boylesports International back at Cheltenham.
John Carr’s star will now be primed for the AIG Europe Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown on January 27 but could also have an outing on the level before the Festival.
“The plan is still to run in the AIG – it might be a bit of a rush but that is where we want to take him,” said Carr.
“I heard Noel Meade mention he might take Harchibald back there (Dundalk) though and it is certainly an option if we found a suitable race.
“The track doesn’t open again until the end of February so it would be after the AIG.
“If we needed to, we have the option of putting him spot-on for the Champion there.”
Despite being turned over last time, Sublimity is still the general 4-1 favourite for a repeat win in March.
Turf TV launches its full service from 31 British racecourses at Cheltenham today.
The channel, which completed a pilot programme from six courses earlier in the year, will be the only platform to show full cards from their allotted tracks, including Aintree, Ascot and Newmarket.
Channel 4 Racing’s John Francome is the channel’s official ambassador and will regularly carry out pundit duties.
Turf TV will be available in more than 2,500 licensed betting offices across the UK.
