Coolcashin can collect
Coolcashin gets the nap in the Ratoath Maiden Hurdle. The dual bumper winner was thrown in at the deep end on his debut over jumps when contesting a novice hurdle at Galway last month.
He tried to make all the running before paying the price for going much too quick for his own good, in very testing conditions.
The selection held a huge advantage for most of that two and a half miles, but weakened badly coming away from two out to finally fade into fourth behind the impressive Rinroe.
In third was Liskennett and she boosted the form when scoring at Cork subsequently. Biggest danger has to be another useful bumper performer, Woodbine Willie.
He also ran in that Galway race, but lost his rider at the first. If the market speaks in his favour the six-year-old would have to be respected, but Coolcashin, dropping down half a mile in trip compared to Galway, will surely ask serious questions of his rivals from the start!
You Sir, another natural front-runner, is the one to beat in the two miles and five Kilbrew Beginners Chase.
He was decent enough over flights, but always gave the impression would not come into his own until going over fences.
Bowe's charge made a solid enough start at Galway, third to Be My Leader and Scotsirish, and, hopefully, will improve plenty for the experience.
Jered and O'Hana appear the two on which to concentrate in the opening St Margaret's Novice Hurdle.
The former cruised to victory at Punchestown and is, apparently, well-regarded in the Noel Meade yard, which is a strong recommendation.
Preference, however, is for Willie Mullins' O'Hana, who stepped way up on previous efforts at Galway last time.
She relished the heavy ground when beating Decoy Daddy and Whatuthink by a neck and eight lengths and both her victims won at Cork on Sunday.
