Davidii poised to come good
A promising juvenile, the grey son of Act One was thought good enough to contest the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh, which went to Teofilo from Holy Roman Emperor.
His opening two outings of this campaign were very disappointing and trainer, Ken Condon, then gave Davidii a break of some two months.
That clearly did him no harm at all and he was back on song at Down Royal last time when performing with real credit to finish two lengths second behind Copper Bell.
The form was boosted when Copper Bell subsequently scored with plenty in hand at Killarney.
Rainbow Dash, who has obviously had problems in the past, is the choice in the Shannon Family Jubilee Hurdle.
He hasn't jumped a flight in public since landing his maiden from High Priestess at Fairyhouse in January of 2005.
The selection indicated, however, he was no back number when sixth of 28 in the two mile handicap won by Sandymount Earl at the Curragh last month.
The frustrating Catskill might provide the answer to the Tim Kelly Electrical Maiden Hurdle.
Ado McGuinness' five-year-old has a real bout of seconditis to overcome, the latest coming when runner-up to Far More Serious at Kilbeggan.
