Gripit to Tipit in punters favour

GRIM is just about the best word to describe what's on offer at Fairyhouse tonight. Large fields of mainly moderate horses is hardly an enticing prospect.

Gripit to Tipit in punters favour

The nap vote falls on Charlie Swan's Gripit 'N Tipit, who is fancied to overcome a 79 day absence in the Carphone Warehouse Hurdle.

He hasn't run since falling at the sixth in the competitive handicap hurdle won by Charlies First at the Punchestown Festival in April.

Previously, Swan's charge produced a reasonable effort, in the context of this opposition, when a close third to Shanghide and Charlie Yardbird at Gowran Park.

Gripit 'N Tipit won his maiden in fine style at Navan and also showed he goes well fresh when returning from over a four months break to take a bumper at Galway in September.

The Tipperary handler could complete a double with once-raced Hotterthanjuly in the Ratoath Bumper.

The five-year-old hasn't been since performing with distinct promise when fourth behind Model Athlete at Thurles back in November. Hopefully, the market will now speak in his favour.

The somewhat enigmatic Articulation could finally enjoy a turn over fences in the Naul Beginners Chase.

This is a weak enough heat and Articulation did run alright when two lengths runner-up to Feel Good Factor at Ballinrobe.

Eoin Griffin's Pure Theatre might provide the solution to the Greenogue Maiden Hurdle. He stayed on quite nicely when fourth to Bambootcha at Tipperary and the form of that contest has been working out well.
