Take a chance with History
Tamimi’s History is a hopeful nap choice to give Kevin Prendergast a first success of the new flat campaign in the opening Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Median Auction Maiden.
Prendergast’s horses generally performed well at the Curragh on Sunday and the Kalanisi colt should at least go close!
He kept good company in three outings last season, starting with a third to the well-regarded pair, La Conquistadora and Soldier Of Fortune at Gowran Park.
Tamimi’s History then contested two useful races, finishing second to Mount Nelson at the Curragh and rounding off with a fourth behind Archipenko at Leopardstown, both winners trained by Aidan O'Brien.
Tony Martin’s Akshar looks the best horse in the Templemore Beginners 'Chase, but like many inmates from this yard his movements in the market may prove all important. The eight-year-old made a solid start over fences, it was his first outing for Martin as well, when third behind Alexander Taipan and subsequent winner, Mercuric, at Fairyhouse in January. From this range, he gets the nod.
Noel Meade’s once-raced Whats Another One may provide the answer to the Clonoulty Mares Bumper.
She didn't exactly set the world alight on her debut when a remote enough fifth to Nuvelli at Navan.
It’s a race which hasn't been working out too well. But the selection did travel nicely for much of the journey and was the Meade second string that day.
Barry Geraghty is a significant booking for Dusty Doolan in the second division of the Cashel Beginners 'Chase and if Colm Murphy's charge puts his best foot forward then he can deliver.
His best effort over fences was when beaten a neck by Imperial Sun at Punchestown in late December and a repeat of that would be good enough in a bad race.
