The Sportsman newspaper closes

RACING and sports betting newspaper The Sportsman has announced its closure with immediate effect.

The publication became the first new British daily national paper for 20 years when it launched on March 22 this year.

However, it went into administration in July and a relaunch to focus more on racing was made in a bid to increase circulation.
