Rely on Return

TAKE a chance on bottom weight Deep Return in a wide open Guinness Kerry National at Listowel this afternoon.

Rely on Return

Noel Meade's nine-year-old has occasionally promised to be a half-decent horse, but has hit form of late and looks capable of a big run.

He won two ordinary races at Kilbeggan, before taking on Oodachee in a conditions event at Galway last week.

Deep Return ran a cracker then, going down by a head to his classier opponent. He now meets Oodachee on 13lbs better terms and should, at least, reverse those placings.

Monterey Bay and Pearly Jack were second and third respectively behind Euro Leader in the National a year ago and head the many dangers.

Tom Hogan's charges are in fine shape right now and his Kalderon can land the nap in the Kerrryman Maiden Hurdle.

He was unlucky not to get off the mark at the first time of asking over flights at Leopardstown back in March. Kalderon was challenging eventual winner Schindlers Hunt when blundering badly at the last.

The son of Big Shuffle has been in good form on the flat of late, taking a Listed contest at Tralee last time.

Mark Prescott's Elusive Dream is fancied to run his rivals ragged in the 12 furlongs Ladbrokes' Race.

Admittedly, he made little show in the Ebor at York on his latest appearance, trailing in 18th of 19 behind shock winner, Mudawin.

But Elusive Dream had the steadier of 9-4 in that tough handicap and his previous demolition job on Peak Of Perfection at Galway was impressive.
