Dundalk all-weather plans are frozen out

PLANS to develop Ireland’s first all-weather racetrack took a major step backwards yesterday following a board meeting of Horse Racing Ireland.

At the meeting it was unanimously decided that no funding could be advanced for the provision of all-weather racing at this time.

In a statement, HRI also disclosed that the governing body would only support the development of all-weather racing if it could stage jump racing.
