Geraghty misses out on three winners
He broke a bone in his hand at Punchestown on Friday night and missed no less than three winners.
He was booked for Corporate Express, successful in the featured Supermac's Summer Hurdle, and was replaced by Shay Barry.
The complexion of the contest changed when market leader, More Rainbows, ridden by Paul Carberry and tracking the leaders at the time, fell three out. Carberry was badly shaken and stood down for the rest of the day.
The front-running Three Mirros continued to lead to the straight, but Corporate Express quickly asserted and crossed the line 14 lengths to the good. Said trainer, Michael Halford: "He got a good lead and it worked out well, whether he would have won if Paul's horse stayed standing I don't know.
"He loves that ground and will stick to novice hurdles and may go back to the flat as well."
The Screamer, a big order at morning prices and a strong favourite on track, easily won the opening Supermac's Open In Dooradoyle Mares Maiden Hurdle.
Geraghty was also to have partnered the mare and Conor O'Dywer was entrusted with the ride.
He never had a problem, as The Screamer travelled well through the contest, readily mastering the flattering Ballygar Glin over two out and then easily holding Longueville Guest. "We'll find a novice hurdle for her now", reported trainer, Michael Hourigan.
O'Dwyer deputised as well for Geraghty aboard another Hourigan inmate, The Real Solara, which easily won the Dark Horse Pub Patrickswell Maiden Hurdle.
This looked a moderate contest beforehand and when six of the 12 possibilities declined the engagement then it became even more mediocre.
The Real Solara was always odds-on, led at the fourth and made the rest to beat Owennacurra Bobby with a bit in hand.
Ken Whelan was suspended for five days, having been found guilty of failing to pull up fourth placed Ballytrent, which broke down before the second last.
The Gerry O'Neill trained Sancta Maria defied top weight in the Paddy Casey Plays June 18th Meeting Handicap Hurdle. She was taken to the front heading to five out by Johnny Levins and was always getting tbe best of the battle from the second last with Isteresena, the final flight being bypassed.
Alan Crowe, who hurt his thumb in a fall in the first, missed a winner on the Christy Roche trained Galtee View in the Sap Landscapes Handicap. Galtee View Larry Hurley was the substitite called off the bench - mastered trail-blazing King Carew approaching the home turn and wasn't hard pressed to hold Felix The Great in the closing stages.
Colm Murphy, who will always be associated with Cheltenham hero Brave Inca, won the Bumper with the newcomer Feathard Lady.
The daughter of Accordion got a dream run through on the inside for Ross O'Sullivan to lead inside the furlong pole and beat Fair Touch.
Favourite, Buck Whaley, tried to make all, but was struggling heading to the home turn.
