Marshall triumphs in Super League Grand Prix

The unfolding of the Blessington Super League Grand Prix yesterday saw the league’s top two forced to give way to third-placed Harry Marshall.

Ten combinations made it past Tom Holden’s course in the Kill International Equestrian Centre, with first to go Edward Doyle (Carrick Clover) holding the lead until league leader Conor Swail rode Conduct into pole position by an impressive two-and-a-half seconds when third last to go. Shane Breen, riding Luandra, had no problem in gaining another second when next in, but it was Marshall and the aptly-named All Shook Up who took the honours, when shaving another half a second off the target.

Swail’s third place was enough to see him stay ahead of Breen at the top of the IJM TimberFrame League, the former on 89, six better than his closest rival. Marshall still has work to do, standing on 67.5 points in third place.
