Light can continue to shine brightly

TRUE to form, the cream has come to the top in the Guinness Trophy at Curraheen Park. Unfortunately for two of the leading trainers, Christy O’Callaghan and Owen McKenna, it has brought their standard bearers into direct opposition in the semi-finals.

Light can continue to shine brightly

McKenna’s Boherduff Light and Droopys Agassi, now joint favourites with Cashmans, square up again in a tough opening semi-final. Agassi trailed his younger kennel companion all the way last week and it hard to see him reversing the placings. It could only happen if the normally electrifying Boherduff Light misses his break and that hasn’t happened for a long time.

Cloneys Rocket on his inside is a tardy starter, but Brian McCann’s runner Jordans Elect has been showing steady improvement and looks the one to trouble the McKenna pair. However, Boherduff Light’s connections are reported to be targeting the English Derby and his trainer thinks he’s very special. That’s recommendation enough.
