Sharesha poised to get off mark
The duo’s lightly raced Sharesha should take plenty of beating in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden.
The daughter of Ashkalani was well backed to make a winning debut at Leopardstown in March, but went under by a length and a half to the very useful Dermot Weld trained Dimitrova.
She was then an odds-on chance at Cork in April but ran into another decent Weld horse in Evolving Tactics, the verdict on this occasion - two lengths.
The selection hasn’t been seen since, but that is hardly a worry, the way Oxx’s three-year-olds are running, and she gets the vote to cope with yet another Weld contender in Diplomatic Gamble, half a length runner-up to Luggala at Naas nine days ago.
Akash can complete a double for Oxx and Murtagh in the Goresbridge Handicap.
He ran his best race to date, from the front, at the Curragh last month, only cracking in the dying strides when beaten a short head by stable companion, Englishtown. The form has been working out reasonably well and Akash is fancied to defy a 2lbs rise in the weights.
Aidan O’Brien’s juveniles are in full flow and his Anchor shouldn’t be opposed in the Irish Stallion Farms’ Maiden.
The Inchinor colt ran green on his debut when beaten two lengths by market rival, Simple Exchange, at Cork and will know more of what’s required now and be suited to stepping up an extra furlong.
