Fallon set for a Bonanza start

KIEREN FALLON has his first rides as the number one jockey for the Ballydoyle team when the Flat season kicks-off at the Curragh on Sunday.

Fallon set for a Bonanza start

Fallon teams up with new boss Aidan O’Brien in four of the seven races and can record a double aboard the unraced pair Jaguar On The Run and Bonanza.

A half brother to top class two and three year-old Ekraar, Jaguar On The Run is reported to be working well at home and can go in first time of asking in the Peter Keatley Curragh Groundcare Maiden.

Bonanza, a Danehill colt, has also been the subject of favourable reports and can account for Bobs Pride, a good second at Galway on his only start as a juvenile, in the One In Four EBF Maiden.

The Ballydoyle team is represented by Mullins Bay in the ladbroke.com Irish Lincolnshire but, in a wide open contest, preference is for Victram.

A progressive handicapper on the Flat last season, he warmed up for tomorrow’s assignment with a comfortable success in a handicap hurdle at Naas seven days ago.

At Limerick tomorrow, Jakers is one to note in the Mullins Electrical Beginners Chase.

Pat Fahy’s dual hurdle winner served notice that his turn over the larger obstacles was imminent when a clear second best behind Hard Winter at Thurles last month.

Blazing Liss, no match for Justified at Punchestown in January, should find the company more to her liking in the Dawn Milk Omega EBF Mares Novice Hurdle.

Punters can enjoy a winning start to the weekend by supporting Panaconi in the opening www.tramore.racecourse.com Maiden Hurdle at Tramore today.

Pat Fahy’s six-year-old was an unlucky loser in a similar contest at Downpatrick last month, coming a cropper at the last when a length up.

Panaconi, whose earlier efforts included a good second behind Doctor Linton at Thurles, can set the record straight here.

Miss Toulon can open her account over flights in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle.

The Toulon mare, who chased home Cheltenham Festival hero Missed That in a Naas bumper last month, wasn’t helped with a poor jumping display when a beaten favourite on her hurdling debut at Thurles. She will be better for the experience and can recoup losses.
