Coronation next for Guineas queen Attraction
The daughter of Efisio became the first filly to score in both the English and Irish 1000 Guineas on Sunday, after proving herself an accomplished sprinter last term.
Following her one length win from Alexander Goldrun at the Curragh connections are now looking at keeping their unbeaten charge at a mile.
Trainer Mark Johnstonâs wife Deirdre said yesterday: âAt the moment we are thinking about the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot for her next race.
âI think she is so versatile and has so much speed but weâll just have to take it one race at a time and see how we get on, although the trip issue is a great problem to have.â
Attraction followed up her half-length victory over Sundrop at Newmarket with another bold front-running display at the Curragh, and there could be more improvement to come.
âYou never know, she may come on again for yesterdayâs race. Kevin (Darley) said that she wasnât doing very much in front and he was glad that something came to her quarters to give her something to think about,â said Mrs Johnston.
âShe is just amazing and I donât think that we have got to the bottom of her yet.â
âOur horses normally just go on the walker the day after the race, so sheâll just be on there tomorrow. After the last Guineas we just gave her three days walking and trotting before we started her back cantering,â she continued.
âBut sheâll tell us when she is ready and once she gets a bit fresh walking and trotting weâll start her back in full work.â
