Wild passion poised to get off the mark
This former useful flat horse in Germany has had just one run in this country and it was rich in promise.
That came at Fairyhouse last February when he ran stable companion, and market leader, Power Elite to half a length.
Back in third place, a further 11 lengths away, was Zeroberto.
Wild Passion then contested the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham, he went off a well backed 12-1 shot, but fell at the second.
Since Fairyhouse, Zeroberto has made significant improvement, proving particularly impressive when easily winning at the Galway Festival. But he clearly appears to have too much ground to make up on the selection, who is now 4lbs better in. The other to consider is Tom Foley’s Royal Paradiss, fourth to Total Enjoyment in the Wetherbys’ Champion Bumper at Cheltenham when trained by Francois Doumen.
The Kilbegnet EBF Novice Chase is a hot little contest, but trail-blazing Jack Of The Cross should give us a big run.
He seemed to relish the testing conditions at Listowel, when narrowly beaten by Mirpour, and the form got a big boost when Mirpour scored subsequently at Tipperary.
Devious Diva, admittedly no great shakes, but who handled the heavy surface when runner-up behind John Ells at Listowel, is the choice in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden.
