SIX PERFECTIONS gained compensation for unlucky defeats in the English and Irish 1000 Guineas with a narrow victory in the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-Le Buffard-Jacques le Marois at Deauville yesterday.
Marois proves just perfect as Six finally comes good

The Pascal Bary-trained filly was brought with a powerful run by Thierry Thulliez to lead a furlong out and resist the late thrust of stable companion Domedriver.

Kieren Fallon put in a determined finish on last season’s Breeders’ Cup Mile winner, but could not peg back Six Perfections and went down by a short neck.

Connections of the winner believe she was gaining no more than she deserved by taking the Group One prize.

Alan Cooper, racing manager for owners the Niarchos family, responsible for the first two, said: “That is compensation indeed for her unlucky runs in the English and Irish 1000 Guineas.

“There is nothing more to say. Magnifique.”

Bary added: “The filly had an unlucky time of it in both Britain and Ireland, and she had a lovely action today.”
