Beethoven to hit the right note
The son of the brilliant Mozart was easy to back at Leopardstown last month and the market got it right, as he finished third of six behind Dermot Weld's heavily-supported Sapphire Storm.
Essentially, that race was a bit of a farce with little pace on for most of the journey and the time woefully slow.
But there was plenty to like about the way the selection came home and he will surely benefit greatly from the experience and know far more of what is now required.
Kevin Prendergast's Taqseem has the best form, finishing an unlucky length second to Amigoni at Gowran Park, but Rol'over Beethoven is fancied to outstay him.
Dermot Weld's Kova Hall looks very much the one to beat in the nine furlongs Railway Handicap.
A moderate juvenile, he has shown improved form this season, particularly on his latest appearance at Leopardstown when third to Bective Ranger and Loblolly Bay.
That race is working out well with Dynah Mo Hum (fourth) and Ossiana (seventh) winning in the meantime.
Lasquini Du Moulin, absent since scoring over flights at Tipperary eleven months ago, is a hopeful choice to make a winning debut over fences in the Keeponthesunnyside Beginners Chase.
Kevkat, who created a good impression when scoring on his debut here last month, is the choice in the Bumper, although, under a penalty, could be vulnerable to a useful newcomer!
