Well drawn Kelatakan to deliver
James Leavy’s four year old has shown a lot of promise in two runs and should now be poised to strike.
He began by finishing fourth to Hippodrome at Naas in June, a contest which has been working out quite nicely.
Hippodrome has since finished second in a competitive Curragh handicap, while fifth placed Sogno Verde was a clear-cut winner at Tipperary last week.
Kelatakan followed with another decent effort when third, promoted to second, behind Portsmouth and Akram, also at the Curragh.
The downside is that both his races were over ten furlongs, but the grey son of Daylami hasn’t appeared short of pace and dropping to seven now may not matter at this level!
Michael Halford’s Tomorrow’s Dream, a moderate enough bumper performer, can take the Tote Ireland 75th Anniversary Maiden Hurdle. Successful at Naas, he rounded off last season with a remote third behind the highly-regarded Travino at Navan in February.
Jumping was always going to be his game and Tomorrrow’s Dream is readily preferred to the long-absent dual bumper winner, The Guarantor.
De Roberto, who seemed unsuited by hold-up tactics when a disappointing fourth to Night Sphere at Limerick on Friday night, gets the nod in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Auction Maiden.
