Multazem should do the business
This will be the eighth run of the campaign for the son of Kingmambo, but he is retaining his form really well and the conditions of the contest are very much in his favour.
The simple facts are that the selection has a minimum of 8lbs in hand of all of his rivals and, if performing anywhere near his best, will do the business.
Multazem ran well in defeat at the Curragh on his latest appearance. He went to the front with over two furlongs to go, but was worried out of it close home and beaten a neck by the blinkered for the first time, Napper Tandy, with the useful Mkuzi a further length away in third.
That race was over a mile and a quarter, arguably his best trip. Dropping down to a mile now isn’t ideal, but Weld’s colt has to be fancied to get through, in this class and with Pat Smullen sure to make plenty use of him.
Aidan O’Brien’s Tu Eres Mi Amore gets the nod in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Race.
Admittedly, she has looked to be of limited ability so far, but this stiff mile may well bring out the best in her. The daughter of Sadler’s Wells could only manage fifth of 15 on her debut behind Summer Sunset at Tralee, when light in the market.
She then took a major step up in grade, contesting a Group Three at Longchamp. Despite managing only seventh of eight, Tu Eres Mi Amore was beaten less than six lengths and did not perform at all badly.
Kevin Prendergast’s Chained Emotion is the right one in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Median Auction Maiden.
He ran an absolute cracker in a very valuable event at the Curragh last month, finishing a highly creditable third behind David Loder’s Sutter’s Fort and Dermot Weld’s Favourite Nation.
That contest was over an extended six furlongs, but Chained Emotion, on his only other outing, showed he doesn’t lack speed when a close third to Devil Moon and De Tiger, over the minimum distance, at Tipperary back in April.
