Despite her young age, Sorcha Tiernan has already experienced the full range of highs and lows in Irish basketball. This Sunday, the 24-year-old is hoping that experience can help guide her and Liffey Celtics to their first national cup title since 2019.

Tiernan was still in school when she broke into the club’s Super League side, quickly tasting success in both the league and cup. That however was followed by a stretch where the Leixlip club was out of contention for major honours. Tiernan never doubted that the club would turn it around.
