You go girl: Rhasidat Adeleke ready for Paris Olympics where 'anything can happen'

In Santry last month, Irish medal prospect Rhasidat Adeleke got a real-life look at the impact she’s had. Thousands of youngsters waiting at the finish, calling her name, wanting, needing, a picture or an autograph.

TALENT like hers doesn’t hide. It can’t. Talent at this level — an outlier among outliers — will always show itself in the teenage years. Maybe at that stage it won’t set the world on fire. 

Maybe it’ll take a little longer to mature. But whenever it emerges, when it shines through in a way that shows a certain athlete is different, you’ll sure as hell know it.
