Niland celebrates reaching main draw

Ireland’s Conor Niland was tonight celebrating reaching the main draw of Wimbledon after a straight-sets win in his final qualifying-round match.

The 29-year-old Limerick player beat Croatian Nikola Mektic 6-3 7-6 (7/5) 6-4 to qualify for a grand slam for the first time in his career.
