Woodward turns his hand to tennis
Former rugby World Cup-winning coach Sir Clive Woodward is to meet with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to discuss whether some of his training methods can be used to help develop the careers of players like Andy Murray.
LTA chief executive Roger Draper wants to utilise the best techniques – such as the visual skills coaching used by Woodward prior to the World Cup victory - to bring through a new breed of players.
“The LTA is keen to learn from other sports,” Draper told the Daily Mirror.
“Clive has proved the value that can come from the EyeThink technology and we feel there may be benefits that can be applied to tennis.
“Clive has spent a couple of days at Queen’s Club with many of our players and they really enjoyed working with it.”
