Rusedski on form in Russia

Greg Rusedski booked his place in the quarter-finals of the St Petersburg Open with a comeback win over American Kevin Kim in his second-round match.

Kim, 27, took the first set 6-4 but that was the cue for seventh seed Rusedski to launch his fightback.

Rusedski, ranked 37 in the world and the British number two, took the second set 6-3 and then broke in the third which he went on to clinch 6-4.

Rusedski, who beat home favourite Dmitry Tursunov in his first round match on Wednesday, will next face second seed Thomas Johansson of Sweden in his quarter-final match in the US dollars one million event.

It continues a good run for the 32-year-old Briton who is making his second trip to Russia in a month and who was ousted in the first round of the Madrid Masters by Croatian beanpole Ivo Karlovic.

World number 15 Johansson has won seven of 11 previous meetings including the last meeting in Miami this year.
