Discus champion stripped of gold

Discus thrower Robert Fazekas was tonight stripped of his Olympic gold medal after being found guilty of a doping offence.

The announcement came following a meeting of the IOC’s executive board in Athens and it meant that, for the first time in Olympic history, two athletics gold medallists have been thrown out of a Games.
