The 2002 champion takes on title-holder and world number one Roger Federer in an eagerly-awaited Centre Court showdown which has caught the imagination of women’s champion Serena Williams.

Williams, who opens up on Centre Court today against Jennifer Capriati, is hoping to catch Federer’s clash with Hewitt and big-serving American Andy Roddick’s duel with Sjeng Schalken.

“I would definitely want to watch Roger Federer and Andy Roddick,” she said.

“Roger is just unbelievable. His game is so smooth. He is just so perfect out there.

“And Andy’s really exciting to watch. He is fun, I like his antics.”
