Reigning champion Lance Armstrong wrapped up his fourth consecutive Tour de France title, while Robbie McEwen and Baden Cooke swept to an Australian one-two finish on the 20th and final stage from Melun to Paris.

Armstrong cruised home in the main peloton maintaining his seven-minute overall advantage over second-placed Spaniard Joseba Beloki, while Lithuanian Raimondo Rumsas finished third another minute back despite a bold attempt to pinch second place late on.

With the yellow jersey already all-but wrapped up, the focus was on the battle for the sprinter's green jersey and it was McEwen, scooping 35 points for the stage win, who won it from German Erik Zabel.

McEwen just pipped his compatriot Cooke in a final sprint for the line, with Frenchman Damien Nazon third, just missing out on what would have been a popular French victory on the Champs Elysees.

Laurent Jalabert won the best climber's award and Ivan Basso the best young rider's white jersey.
