Henman recovers to claim opening set
Tim Henman came from 1-4 down to take the opening set of his first-round clash with Galo Blanco, in the French Open.
Henman, the sixth seed, won five games in a row and the set 6-4. He was 3-2 up in the second set before rain came down, stopping play.
The British number one was broken in the first game of the match after a number of unforced errors.
Henman then sportingly corrected a line judge's call on the opening point of the second game.
He still had a chance to break straight back however but Blanco came up with a superb winner and eventually served out for a 2-0 lead.
The next two games went with serve before Henman was broken again in the fifth game. He recovered from 0-40 down to 30-40, but then could only watch as a forehand hit the net and sat up perfectly for Blanco to hit an easy winner.
Henman benefited from a net cord as Blanco served at 40-30 to take a 5-1 lead, the Briton's forehand clipping the net and looping over the Spaniard's outstretched racquet.
And two points later Henman took full advantage to break serve and reduce his arrears to 4-2 before his first love service game made it 4-3.
He broke Blanco again in the eighth and 10th games to complete a remarkable turnaround.
