Tennis: Rusedski through to second round

Greg Rusedski battled his way through to the second round of the ATP Mercedes Benz Cup with a two-set win against Paradom Srichaphan of Thailand.

The British number two squeezed through 6-4 7-6 (7-4) in a close encounter in Los Angeles.

But Rusedski could face an even tougher test in the second round.

He will meet either Andre Agassi or American wild card James Blake.
