Wimbledon: Agassi and Rafter due first on court

America’s Andre Agassi and Australian Pat Rafter will be first on court to play their Wimbledon semi-final.

Their match is cheduled to start at 1pm.

Meanwhile, tension is building in Britain ahead of home favourite Tim Henman's match against 29-year-old Goran Ivanisevic, who entered this year’s Wimbledon as a wild card.

But Ivanisevic has already proved a popular crowd-puller, with his passionate game and unusual on-court celebrations which include him ripping off his shirt and beating his chest.

TV viewing figures were set to equal those of last year’s Wimbledon final when 12 million people tuned in.

Thousands of people were expected to cram into the grounds later, despite tickets for the Centre Court clash selling out last November.

Many will watch the game unfold from Aorangi Park hill on its giant screen.

Bookmakers could be forking out a massive £2m if Henman wins Wimbledon.

Hundreds of punters are thought to be sitting on bets placed when Henman first burst on to the tennis scene.

Henman insisted he has a good chance against Ivanisevic.

He said: ‘‘I feel confident about my chances, I have got a good record against Goran and hopefully I can continue that.’’

He lost his two previous semi-final appearances to Pete Sampras.
