Lee could be pitted against Golden Gloves champion

MARVIN LEE, who will top the bill at the Garda v NYPD dinner-show in Cork on St. Patrick’s night, will not know the identity of his opponent until after the Golden Gloves tournament New York.

Larry Morrison, one of the organisers along with Dan Lane from the Rylane Club who are co-promoters, said last night that Lee, who has sidestepped the National Senior Championships to box against the team from the New York Police Department, is raring to go.

Recently graduated from the Garda College in Templemore, Lee was a finalist last year and would have guaranteed defending champion Kenneth Egan stern opposition for the light heavyweight title.
