Gebrselassie victory in London Run

HAILE Gebrselassie was a runaway winner of the British 10km London Run in a time of 28 minutes and 12 seconds.

He was never under pressure as he eased to victory. There were hopes that the Ethiopian might challenge the British all-comers’ record of 27mins 25secs he set at the BUPA Great Manchester Run in May.

Kenya’s Robert Cheboror was second, South Africa’s Thembalina Zola was third.
