First privateer to rally Peugeot

Dubliner, George Tracey will become the first privateer in either Ireland or Britain to rally a Peugeot 206 WRC. The Cabinteely man has acquired the ex-Freddy Loix Peugeot 206 WRC and will debut the car on the forthcoming International Rally of the Lakes Rally in Killarney (May1-2).

The rally will also see Wexford’s, Eamonn Boland debut a Step 2 Mitsubishi WRC, he was scheduled to debut the car in Monaghan on Sunday’s in the second round of the Dunlop Championship, but it will not be ready in time.

The debut of both cars is certain to attract additional interest in Killarney where the likes of Tapio Laukkanen and Derek McGarrity in Subaru WRC’s, Eugene Donnelly (Toyota Corolla WRC) and Ford Focus pair, Austin MacHale and Donie O’Sullivan, will provide top class opposition.
