Bupa run boost

Two European Cross Country Champions and an indoor silver medallist have joined the elite field for the Great BUPA Ireland Run which takes place in the Phoenix Park, Dublin on Saturday, April 9 next.

Runners can enter online up to Friday through www.bupaireland.ie or by calling the Run hotline on 01-8680088.

The women’s elite field has been boosted by the entry of the reigning European cross-country champion, Hayley Yelling of Great Britain, who will be competing against Sonia O’Sullivan and US 5000 metre Olympian, Amy Rudolph.

In the men’s field, European Junior cross-country champion Barnabas Bene of Hungary has been joined by European Indoor 3000m silver medallist, John Mayock of Great Britain and Olympic Marathon 8th place finisher Alberto Chaica of Portugal. Also competing is defending double champion Craig Mottram of Australia and multiple Irish record holder Mark Carroll.
