RTÉ has secured TV highlights rights for next year’s Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, plus a new multi-year agreement to show continued live coverage of the Amgen Irish Open.

Sky Sports is under contract to show live coverage of the Ryder Cup through 2029, but RTÉ has negotiated its own broadcast deal that includes 30-day catch-up rights in the Republic of Ireland, as well as social media clip rights.

The station will also have radio rights for both tournaments.

The news come just days after the national broadcaster aired live coverage of Katie Taylor’s last fight, at Croke Park last Saturday, with a peak audience of 1.6m people and an average of 973,000 viewers.

The event also brought in over half-a-million streams on RTÉ Player.

The deal reached with the DP World Tour for the Irish Open continues a long-running association and covers video, audio and online. Coverage of the 2026 tournament gets underway on RTÉ and on the RTÉ Player from 1.30pm on Thursday.

“Given the drama, excitement and world-class field the Amgen Irish Open now attracts, we are delighted to renew our broadcast agreement and bring more great live sport to Irish audiences free-to-air,” said RTÉ’S head of sport Declan McBennett.

“On top of that, to be able to incorporate highlights from one of the world's great sporting spectacles that is the Ryder Cup means that RTÉ will ensure Irish audiences have even more access to memorable sporting moments on Irish soil and all free-to-air.”
