Quartet of Ryder Cup stars confirmed for Irish Open

Ryder Cup stars Patrick Reed, Robert MacIntyre, Francesco Molinari and Sepp Straka have been confirmed for the 2026 Amgen Irish Open, with the quartet set to tee it up at Doonbeg from September 10-13.

They will join a strong field that includes defending champion Rory McIlroy, two-time Major champion and two-time Amgen Irish Open champion Jon Rahm, and Major champions and former Amgen Irish Open winners Shane Lowry and Pádraig Harrington.

The field also features former world number one and European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald, alongside European Ryder Cup players Tyrrell Hatton, Rasmus Højgaard and Nicolai Højgaard.

Reed, the 2018 Masters champion, currently leads the Race to Dubai rankings after recording two victories, a runner-up finish and a further two top-10 results during an impressive 2026 season. The American made his Irish Open debut at the K Club last year. 

"I'm really looking forward to returning to the Amgen Irish Open and playing at Doonbeg for the first time. Ireland has such a rich golfing history and the fans always create an incredible atmosphere," said Reed, a five-time DP World Tour winner.

World number 17 MacIntyre was a key member of Europe’s victorious Ryder Cup teams in Rome in 2023 and New York in 2025, as was world number 26 Straka.

"I'm excited to play the Amgen Irish Open for the first time and experience Doonbeg. Ireland has such a proud golfing tradition and it's always special to compete in front of passionate golf fans. I'm looking forward to the challenge of the course and being part of what promises to be a great week," said Straka.

Molinari, the 2018 Open champion, was recently appointed Ryder Cup vice-captain by Donald for the third time.
