Sergio Garcia has apologised for his behaviour during the final round of the Masters on Sunday. Following a tee-shot on the second hole which ended up in a bunker, the Spaniard smashed his driver off the ground repeatedly and then broke the club when he hit a cooler with it moments later.
Under the rules, Garcia had to play the remainder of the round without a driver. He later received a code of conduct warning from Geoff Yang, chairman of the Masters' competition committee.

“I want to apologize for my actions on Sunday at the Masters tournament,” Garcia posted to social media on Tuesday.
“I respect and value everything that The Masters and Augusta National Golf Club is to Golf. I regret the way I acted and it has no place in our game. It doesn’t reflect the respect and appreciation I have for The Masters, the patrons, tournament officials and golf fans around the world.”
Asked about his outburst after the round, Garcia said he was "obviously not super proud of it, but sometimes it happens." The 46-year-old shot three-over on Sunday and eight-over for the tournament to finish 52nd.
The 2017 Masters winner is set to play at LIV Golf Mexico this week.
