Mark Power has guaranteed himself playing rights on the HotelPlanner Tour next year after making the cut at the DP World Tour Final Stage Qualifying School.
The Kilkenny golfer equaled his best round so far with a sparkling five-under 67 on the Hills Course at Infinitum to sit on six-under overall. The 72-hole cut fell at five-under, with 75 players progressing to the final two rounds, which will be held over the Lakes Course on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Power came into the week with confidence, after winning the Clutch Tour Championship last month, and also finished in the top10 in the Second Stage qualifying at Desert Springs Resort last week.
He should take confidence from his finish, as he birdied the 16th and 18th to keep his hopes of securing a full DP World Tour card alive.Â
The top 20 players and ties will earn conditional playing privileges (Category 18) on the DP World Tour for next season, but all players will have a status on the HotelPlanner Tour for 2026.
Power is the only Irish competitor to progress in Tarragona. Cormac Sharvin shot level par in his fourth round, but his three-under total was two shy of what was needed. John-Ross Galbraith, Max Kennedy, and Conor Purcell all failed to progress.
South African Zander Lombard leads the event on 22-under, six shots ahead of his nearest competitor.
