LEADER: Tom McKibbin carries a one-shot lead into the final round of the Hong Kong Open after Saturday's 65.

Irish golfer Tom McKibbin will start the final round of the Hong Kong Open with a one-shot lead.

Should McKibbin retain his lead at the end of play on Sunday, the win would guarantee his participation in both The Masters at Augusta and The Open Championship next year.

After shooting the course record of 60 on Thursday, the 22-year-old Hollywood native shot a second consecutive 65 in his third round on Saturday to move to 20-under-par.

LIV golfer McKibbin shot seven birdies and two bogeys on Saturday and is now one shot ahead of MJ Maguire. The American shot a 61 in his third round, including seven birdies and an eagle on the 11th hole.

Further back, American Peter Uihlein sits two shots behind the leader, while Scott Hend of Australia, and Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand both sit on on 17-under-par.

Victory in Fanling would earn McKibbin €310,500.
