'Pretty poor to be honest' - Seamus Power reflects on disappointing Irish Open

Seamus Power had planned to fly to the American west coast on Monday for the next leg of his season.
After finishing his second round on two-over for the Irish Open at the K Club, which leaves the Waterford man outside the projected cut, those plans have changed.
“I have a tournament next week,” said Power. “I was meant to fly out Monday, probably fly out over the weekend now and go back to the west coast.”
Power had started the tournament well. He was three-under at one stage on Thursday. Too many errors on his back nine brought him back to level par by Thursday evening.
Those mistakes persisted on Friday as he carded three birdies and five bogeys.
“Pretty poor, to be honest,” said Power.
“Didn't really do much very well. I had some chances again, but again, same as yesterday, I made too many mistakes. That's what happens.
“It's just breezy and it's just tough. As soon as you miss a fairway, it is difficult. But there's chances, too. If you do hit it on a fairway, the greens are so soft, you can get it at any pin. There's positives and negatives.”
Power is now looking forward to the FedExCup’s fall season.
“I've always played pretty well in the fall,” he said.
“I have to get back to the West Coast, a long ways. Hopefully, I'll be ready by next Thursday. You play in so many different grasses and stuff in the U.S. A lot of it's just matching up to some of that.
“It's just courses that I've liked over the years. Looking forward to it. I've got six or seven tournaments left, I think, now.
"It'll be a big chunk and a lot of good opportunities. Hopefully, I can produce at the right time.”
