“Am I the first one?” This is how PGA Championship week kicked off at Quail Hollow. In three days of pre-tournament questions, some searching, others illuminating, too many utterly inane, it was Jordan Spieth who asked the first when he walked into the media tent early Tuesday morning.

Spieth was told he was indeed the opening player on duty. The first query thrown back his way: are you thinking about your Grand Slam more than in previous years?
