While habitual round leader Justin Rose was setting the pace on the opening day of the Masters, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler did what he does best – lurk.

The reigning champ delivered a steady opening salvo in his bid to become only the fourth player to successfully defend at the Masters, posting a bogey-free 4-under 68 to sit perfectly poised to contend for a third green jacket.
