Rory McIlroy returns to the fairways this week at the Genesis Scottish Open, as he bids to rebuild his game ahead of the year's final major, the Open Championship at Royal Troon next week.

McIlroy has not played since his heartbreaking loss at the US Open at Pinehurst, when three bogeys in the final four holes, including missing two short-range putts, left the door open for Bryson DeChambeau to claim his second major.
