Rory McIlroy didn’t do much wrong on Friday. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take much wrong at Pinehurst No. 2 to lose shots.

Despite hitting all but one fairway and giving himself some decent looks at birdies, Rory McIlroy dropped a couple of shots with a 2-over 72 that including one lone birdie and a couple of great par saves to stay near the top end of the leaderboard at 3-under through 36 holes.
