Power broker Jimmy Dunne helped get PGA Tour and Saudis to the table

Dunne was trying to qualify for the US Mid-Amateur on September 11, 2001. He lost 66 employees that day. He doesn’t forget, nor does he choose to talk about it now

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan and Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the governor of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, sat beside each other during a CNBC interview wearing comfortable smiles of longtime friends.

That was one of many surprises.
