Golf courses told to close with immediate effect

Greenkeeping staff can still attend work, for security and essential maintenance purposes, while adhering to the government guidelines.

Irish golfing authorities have recommended all golf courses close with immediate effect.

The GUI and ILGU reacted after announcements by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and British PM Boris Johnson, which made it clear that people must stay at home to contain the coronavirus.
