USGA explain decision but golf fans disgusted by Dustin Johnson penalty farce

The USGA feel they have explained the logic behind their ruling, but most lovers of the sport beg to differ.

The United States Golf Association (USGA) are currently the focus of a lot of negative attention - after a farcical end to the US Open yesterday.

Johnson won the tournament three shots clear of Sunday morning leader Shane Lowry, Scott Piercy and Jim Furyk - who all tied for second.
