McIlroy shares lead at BMW Championship

Tiger Woods fell off the pace at the BMW Championship in Carmel today, allowing Rory McIlroy and Vijay Singh to share the lead.

Fourteen-time Major winner Woods dropped two shots over his first four holes, slipping to 10-under and tied for ninth in the process.

That left a clutch of players ahead of him, with overnight pacesetter Singh joined under 13-under by in-form USPGA champion McIlroy, who birdied the par-four fourth to trim a shot off his running score.

Behind them was Dustin Johnson, with the American stalking his way up the leaderboard at the start of day three, picking up three shots over six holes to move to 12 under, a score which was shared by Ryan Moore.

Phil Mickelson was also looking good, the left-hander three under through eight to sit on 11 under, with European Ryder Cup pair Graeme McDowell and Lee Westwood also on that score.

Irishman McDowell was two-under through six while Westwood was level after five, with Noh Seung-Yul and Graham DeLaet also two strokes shy of the leading duo.

Padraig Harrington, smarting from his Ryder Cup snub, was alongside Woods on 10-under after picking up a shot over six holes, with Open runner-up Adam Scott also ticking over nicely on the same score.

Ben Curtis was the biggest mover over the opening holes, though, with the American five-under after 12- and 10-under for the tournament.

Luke Donald was some way off at seven-under despite a one-under round through 10, with Ian Poulter a shot better off.
